As I stated last yoar the use of Motor Lorries for the removal of rofuse has proved successful, but I foar that at prosent we cannot afford tho large exponditur o that would be entailed by substituting them for all othor forms of transport. Provision was therefore been made for only one Motor Rofuse Lorry. It is also nocossary to provide for one Rofuse Bargo, for a replacement in the
oxisting fleet of barges.

Last year provision was made for the formation of a Torcstry Reserve in the Water Works Catchment Arca at Taipo. I do not consider that this work valuable though it will be is of sufficient urgency to be proceeded with in oxisting circumstancos. It is however necessary that the work elroady dono should not be wasted and a sum of $2,500 is accordingly inserted on that account.

As a result of the misconduct during the strike
of
a largo number of the old or pupils who have shown themselves to be ungrateful for and undoserving of the educational facilities which have boon generously provided for them at considerable cost to the Colony, there will be a large door caso in the total number of boys attending school. It is thorofore possible to make reductions in staff without impairing tho officiency of the teaching. As you alroady know the servicos of a number of temporary Assistant Mistrossos have boon dispensed with and the number of Assistant Mistresses British Staff has boon roduced from thirty two to twenty sovon.
